Our Churton Park Heritage Trail

As a part of our recent inquiry - Living Locally - we have been researching the history of Churton Park. It was really interesting and we learned so much more about the area we live in than we did before.

Below is a map that Leni, James and Ryan T put together. It has where some of the main sites are, a heritage trail around them, an extra special track to a local legend! If you click on some of the sites, you can read some of the information we found out about.

We hope you like it! Feel free to leave any comments below if there is more information we can add.

P.S: Here is a link to the actual map if you want to look at it in a bit more detail.

Year 5/6 Girls Rippa Rugby

Apologies for the delay but we had a few technical glitches when we tried to post from the Park.

The girls had a blast and even managed to bask in the unexpected sun!  We won one of our games and came very close to winning the others.  Well done girls!

Term 1 Learning Celebration

Kia ora koutou,
Just a reminder about our learning celebration for Term 1. It starts at 1:45pm on Thursday afternoon in the community hall.
This term we are trying something new; we will start with some whole school celebrations, and then move into a learning expo run by the students. All students have chosen something they are particularly proud of this term and they will be sharing their learning at different points around the school. Parents and whanau are then invited to wander around and share/celebrate the different areas of learning being shared by all the students. We have students sharing their discovery/passion projects, electives, maths learning, inquiry and writing, Dragon's Den and more! It promises to be a learning extravaganza, come along and join in the fun!
See you all at 1:45 on Thursday.

Summer is over (although we are enjoying the sun) and Winter is upon us.  The children in Harakeke have brought their most current trophies, ribbons and medals to school so we can celebrate their achievements.
Ka pai koutou!
