Kia ora koutou,
Mark Newdick, our landscape architect, was at school today consulting with all students around the continued development of our school grounds.
Mark spent a wee while in both hubs talking with the students about how he wanted to use their ideas to help continue to develop our school grounds into an exciting, innovative area to explore, play, learn and hang out. Mark stressed that it was important to create areas that reflect our community and how we want to use the spaces.
Mark has sent a consultation sheet home with all students so that they can discuss ideas with their whanau. Most students will bring home their consultation sheet in paper form, whilst some students felt they might lose or damage the paper so they have chosen to put the consultation questions into a Google doc that is shared with teachers. They can then access this doc and add their ideas at home.
We would like all Harakeke students to talk about their ideas and plans at home with their whanau and share their thoughts on the sheet or the doc. Ideas can be written, sketched, brainstormed or shared in whatever form works for your family. We are happy for anyone in the family to fill in the form or doc, as long as they reflect the ideas of your family. We would like all Harakeke students to complete this exercise and return (or share) any ideas with teachers by next Friday (13th June). If you have any further questions about this, please contact Urs or Andrea.
