It's a fantastic opportunity to view and purchase some amazing pieces of art work created by students across the school and also artwork created by Colin Gibbs, our artist in residence for a couple of weeks last term.
All students created art expressing some aspect of their living story - something about themselves that they wanted to share with others. Some students chose to create a piece of pointillism art, some created clay sculptures, some created expressive line art and others created charcoal sketches. They all look amazing, and the explanations that go alongside each piece are fascinating. Come along and share and celebrate them.
The exhibition begins at 7pm in the hall and is for adults only, as alcohol will be available. Snacks will also be provided. Tickets are $5 each, here is the link to purchase tickets online.
Check out some of the amazing art work from the students.

Two long days of intense indoor cricket resulted in a provincial final between Wellington and Auckland. Wellington unfortunately lost by 10 runs to Auckland, but not without giving a spectacular performance. The Wellington team did very well with Matthew Nel being awarded the "Player of the Series" trophy. He has also been selected for the New Zealand Training squad for the 2015 Indoor Cricket Juniors World Series U14 category.
Indoor Cricket as it is now known, is played in countries like Australia, New Zealand, England, South Africa, India and few other countries, this great sport has its various levels from social matches to league matches to Provincial or State tournaments all the way up to international matches including World Cups and Masters Series.
The growth of this sport has led to a Junior World Series being added to the international calendar and in 2012 was first Junior World Series hosted in South Africa. The 2015 World Series is being held in Australia.
We are all extremely proud of Matt and we wish him all the best for the Junior World Series.

Matt Nel has been selected to play in a national competition for the indoor cricket Wellington Under 13 representative team.
The competition to be selected at this level was very tough and we are extremely proud of Matt and his success. He will play in multiple games against teams representing cities and regions from around New Zealand in July. Good luck Matt, let us know how you go.
Today we are celebrating RED SOCK DAY! We marched into our Celebration Assembly with an army of red socks as we performed our WW1 Emotions dance! Today celebrates the life of Sir Peter Blake - a NZ leader!
It's been a great week-long celebration of Leaders, both here at Amesbury School and in our wider community! Thanks to all those who have supported our leadership activities and to the Y5/6 students who have organised and ran events this week!
Rest up and have a great holiday!

This morning we had a member of the Sir Peter Blake Trust Dream Team visit our school and talk about LEADERSHIP! Hillary, a leader from Kiwibank spoke to us about the important qualities of Leadership! Things like being able to listen, encourage, be authentic, selfless and dream big!
Like Sir Peter Blake, having a goal or dream is an important leadership quality! Do you have a DREAM?

Today we saw all sorts of leaders arrive at school from sports leaders, to leaders in entertainment, to teachers and Amesbury leaders - a great selection of thoughtful outfits! And we must not forget all the superheros we had in school today!
The Lunchtime Leaders Disco was also a huge hit with fun had by all! Games such as 'the limbo' and '4 corners' were great! Thanks to the Y5/6 disco team for running such a successful event!
Check out the photos of our leaders!
