Experiencing The Toughness of Group Work

This morning Anna, Matt and Angela's Living Together groups were flung in the deep end!

The task: in random groups, given a few mishmash pieces of PE equipment and fifteen minutes, work together to design a game.

It was a sneaky plan by the teachers to have kids experience the trials and tribulations of team work: listening, cooperation, courage, meeting people half way, leadership, and different roles.

Afterwards, we sat down and reflect on the experience. What was challenging? What would we do differently next time?

Some very good learning experiences!

Lisa's, Claire's and Mike's Literacy Groups.

Living Together






As part of  our Living Together Inquiry  next week we are continuing to explore the following questions with students: Who am I?  What is important to me? What are my values?

For this we are asking all students in Mike's, Lisa's and Claire's Literacy groups to bring in a taonga (treasure) on Monday. It needs to be something that is important and special to them in some way, such as a toy, blanket, photograph or ornament. It also needs to be something they are comfortable sharing or talking about with others.  This will  be the subject of their writing task for the week.  


If the taonga  is expensive or fragile,  or it is something you do not want your child to bring into school, then a drawing, photograph or verbal description will be fine.
